The Vieux Fort Court will on Friday deliver its verdict in the Chakadan Daniel case.
Magistrate Robert Innocent who is the sitting coroner will pronounce the judgment and address the jury.
Daniel was found hanging from his cell after he had been arrested two days prior for escaping lawful custody, assaulting a police officer and damaging property.
Daniel,22, was scheduled to make an appearance at the Second District Court in Dennery on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, when he was discovered dead.
A post mortem examination found that Daniel had died of asphyxia.
Relatives said that there had been numerous allegations of police beatings over the years at that particular station.
The family is being represented by Attorney-at-Law Dasrean Greene.
