The police is seeking the assistance of the public to recapture a Barbadian national who escaped from the Rodney Bay Police Station on Sunday, Nov. 24 after being charged with possession of firearm, assault and threats.
Police said 37-year-old Sylvester Augustine Des Rivieres escaped lawful custody about 4:45 am.
Reports are that Des Rivieres, who was staying in Monchy, Gros Islet, was reported by his girlfriend for allegedly threatening to shoot her.
Augustin was also charged with assault of a police officer. He was arrested on the firearm possession and threats offences on Nov. 20, police said in a press release.
“If anyone has seen the accused or knows his whereabouts, please contact the Rodney Bay Police Station at 456-4061/62 or the nearest police station.
“The RSLPF warns the public that if they have sighted this individual, do not approach as he is believed to be armed and dangerous,” police said in the release.
