A St. Lucian man has been charged with the murder of a Dominican woman, according to Dominicavibes.com.
Marcus Charlery is charged with the murder of 34-year-old Gloria Celestine of Portsmouth, Dominica, who was found dead close to a house on the beach in Lagoon, Portsmouth about 8:30 on Saturday, November 9 after she was reported missing on November 6.
Reports are that the partly decomposed body was discovered by a member of a group of Portsmouth residents who had been searching for the missing woman.
Dominicavibes.com reports that Charlery was remanded at State prison after appearing in a Roseau Magistrate’s Court on Friday, November 22.
“Charlery lived with Celestine in Portsmouth and fathered one of her five children. Two men, including Charlery, were detained on November 9 in connection with Celestine’s death. Celestine was last seen about 2:40 am on Tuesday at Memory Lane Disco in Portsmouth,” the online newspaper reported.
