Police are currently investigating the homicide of 45-year-old George Montoute, aka Caught Up, of Hospital Road, Castries.
Montoute succumbed to a gunshot wound at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, June 2, 2013.
According to a police press release, on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at about 8:37 pm, Criminal Investigations Department officers responded to a shooting incident report at Hospital Road.
“The officers immediately proceeded to the scene of the alleged incident. Upon arrival they observed a male individual lying on his right side, covered in blood. He appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to the lower torso. That individual was identified as 45-year-old George Montoute, also known as Caught Up of Hospital Road, Castries. Montoute was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and admitted. On Sunday, June 2, 2013, George Montoute succumbed to his injury whilst at Victoria Hospital,” the press release added.
A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.
