The recent arrest of a police officer in a strip club investigation, points to transparency within the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), Minister of National Security La Corbiniere has said.

La Corbiniere boasted that the police have been able to do their work in a transparent manner and seeks to ensure that those who break the law are dealt with in the same manner as anyone else.

“Not because this person is a member of the Force they are not going to act,” he stated.

The minister said he will not cast any judgment, but said once the officer broke the law, he must face the necessary consequences. La Corbiniere said the courts will now make a determination as to his fate.

A police officer identified as Alexander Jules and a female by the name of Lisa Callendar, were arrested for the offence of employing persons without a work permit.

On April 28, police conducted an operation at their night club located in the North and arrested two females from Dominica, three from Jamaica, one from Barbados and four from the Dominican Republic.

The foreign females were subsequently charged for the offence of working without a valid work permit and granted bail after they made an appearance at the First District Court.
