A small business owner is now counting her losses after she was robbed at gunpoint by two men at her hairdressing business located close to the Gros Islet bus park in Castries.
The incident is reported to have have occurred sometime after 7.p.m. Tuesday.
Melita Ashford said the bandits managed to take all her money, her handbag containing several important documents, and a cheque book during the robbery.
Ashford said she has become demotivated since the incident, and is scared that the bandits may return.
The businesswoman is calling on the authorities to ramp up security within the Castries area and work towards installing security cameras to assist in catching these criminal elements.
In light of the Christmas season, Ashford said greater police presence is needed in the city.
The matter was reported to the police and is currently being investigated.
