Bordelais Correctional Facility
An individual was shot in or around the area of the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) this afternoon, March 21, according to reports reaching St. Lucia News Online (SNO).
A police source confirmed that an individual sustained a gunshot wound to the right leg around 12:45 p.m., and was transported to the Dennery Hospital by ambulance, but could not provide further information.
SNO has been receiving conflicting reports as to where the shooting occurred. There are reports that the incident occurred on the prison compound and involved an inmate, while other reports point to an ex-inmate being shot outside the prison compound.
Calls to the BCF’s main phone line have gone unanswered.
In addition, calls to the cell phone and landline numbers of the prison’s public relations officer, as well as members of BCF management, have gone unanswered.
