One of two bandits who robbed the National Farmers and General Workers Credit Union in Bois d’Orange, Gros Islet on Friday has appeared in court, police has confirmed.
Police said 39-year-old Ked Jean of Marc, Bexon was charged yesterday and taken to court today for robbery.
He was remanded until his next court appearance, scheduled for tomorrow, police said.
According to reports, two bandits, one armed with a gun, disarmed a female security guard before robbing about $50,000 in cash and cheques from the credit union, around 12:30 p.m.
No one was harmed.
The bandits did not wear masks and the robbery was captured on security cameras.
Police are hunting for the second suspect.
