In an exclusive interview with St. Lucia News Online (SNO), the missing man’s mother, who preferred anonymity, said she last saw her son in mid-April 2017, but she last heard from him on May 18 when he sent her a text to wish his sister a happy birthday on his behalf.

She said his sister last saw him at the end of April.

Relatives said they were told that two men from the neighbouring island of Martinique arrived in St. Lucia between May 18 and May 20 to pick up James in St. Lucia.

However, relatives told SNO that James is no saint and they have warned him to stay out of bad company, especially after he survived being shot about five times about a year ago.

According to the relatives, James told them that he planned to change his ways, despite him admitting being in “too deep”.

Though relatives have their own suspicions about what he has been up to, they claimed that James has never admitted to exactly what he has been doing or identified the persons he has been involved with.

Police in St. Lucia and Martinique have been informed of Richie James’ disappearance, relatives have confirmed.

Persons with knowledge about his whereabouts are asked to contact their nearest police station.
