(SNO) – Six goats and three weed eaters were recently stolen from the Beausejour Agriculture Complex in Vieux-Fort under mysterious circumstances.
The goats, which were of a hybrid, were in a pen while the weed eaters were locked in a building which houses the complex stores.
The goats cost over US$2,000 while the weed eaters are valued at $5,000 each.
According to a source, what is strange is that there were no sign of break-ins in either incident, which is believed to have occurred late in the evening.
The incident has prompted management of the complex to call a meeting with its staff, who according to the source, were told that no one will be spared if found culpable and everyone is being treated as a suspect.
The complex is being secured by seven security guards who work on various shifts. On the compound are also dogs which bark whenever a stranger enters the compound.
The matter is being investigated by the police.
In the past, livestock has been stolen at the complex but not in such large quantities at one time.
