Philip

(SNO) – Police said on Friday that the post mortem (PM) examination on the body of 45-year-old Gregory Philip, a resident of New Development, Soufriere, was conducted on Monday, June 4, 2018 by Dr. Wayne Felicien.

The results of the PM revealed that Philip, also known as ‘Checkie’/’Chucky’, died of pulmonary haemorrhage secondary to neck fracture, police said.

Phlip’s death was branded a “suspicious death” after, according to sources, police received reports that he died when he fell during a domestic dispute in Soufriere on Saturday, June 2, around 9 p.m.

Police have not formally announced his death as a homicide, but according to sources the results of the autopsy may very well confirm his death was not accidental as it was made out to be.

One person was reportedly in custody in connection with the incident, but it was not immediately clear on Friday if that person was released.

At least one family member, who spoke to us on condition of anonymity in an earlier report, believes that Philip was murdered.
