The St Lucia Cancer Society (SLCS) has reported that its office on Mongiraud Street was burglarized today June 14, for the third time since December.

In a short release sent to the media, the SLCS said the incident occurred between 9 and 10 a.m. while staff had temporarily left the office.

“One of our employees left at about 8.45a.m for our participation in World Pharmacy Day. Entry seemed to have been gained through one of the toilets. Obviously we are being targeted as someone is watching and aware of our movements; as this is the third break in between December last year and now,” the society said.

The organization’s computer was stolen.

The society is asking the public to contact their offices if they receive any correspondence soliciting donations which appear to be from the organization. Their telephone numbers are 452-1538 or 485-1950.

The SLCS said it will be moving its offices to a “more secure” location – CARILEC building in Sans Souci at the end of the month.

A reward is being offered to anyone with information which leads to the computer’s recovery.
