(SNO) — A sea captain from Saint Lucia was among victims of what appears to be a pattern of robbery on sea vessels on Union Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
According to police reports from St. Vincent, the sea captain, who was not named, was robbed at about 8:49 p.m. on January 14.
The reports stated that on the day the incident took place, unknown people entered the Catamaran belonging to the sea captain, 24, and stole EC$699 and US$400 in cash.
The police are also investigating another robbery, on a yacht, on the same island.
Reports indicate that the robbery took place between 7:30 p.m. on December 30, 2018 and 11 a.m. on December 31, 2018 when unknown people entered the yacht of a professor from Austria and stole varying amounts of cash.
According to the police, €1250.00 EURO, US$300, $40 Canadian, and EC$200, all in cash, were stolen.
The incident occurred at Chatham Bay, Union Island, police said.
