(SNO) — Police have confirmed that a body was discovered in the vicinity of a coal pit in Anse Ger, Micoud and a post-mortem is scheduled to take place in a few days to determine the cause of death.
The body has been identified as that of 53-year-old Martin Charlery who had been missing for several days.
His decomposed body was discovered around 4:30 p.m. near his residence on Monday.
A law enforcement official told St. Lucia News Online that the post-mortem, which was scheduled to be done last Friday, has been rescheduled for Monday.
The official said post-mortems are being delayed as there are a number of bodies awaiting examination.
The official added that Charlery’s death was not immediately suspicious as he is known to have medical issues, however the post-mortem will but all speculation to rest.
