The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s newest team of recruits is currently building a home for the Cazaubon family of Rock Hall, Castries who lost all they owned in a house fire last year.
The outreach project is used to not only lend a helping hand to citizens in need but serves as a lesson to the recruits as to the significance of community policing.
The recruits each have a skill which is being utilized in the construction of the house.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force also sought outside support to fund the materials for the house. The Demerara Mutual Life Insurance company was one of the businesses that came through and made a cheque presentation to the recruits’ cause.
The recruits estimate that by the end of July, the home will be ready for the Cazaubon family to move in.
