Police have confirmed that the body of a missing man, Ronnie Walter of Cabishe, Babonneau, was found on Sunday, July 7, 2013.
Police Public Relations Officer Aniel Innocent said the partially decomposed body was found at about 5:15 p.m. She said no one has been arrested for the death.
Walter, 20, went missing on the night of June 26, 2013 when he was reportedly last seen boarding a vehicle in Cabishe.
According to a police press release, officers attached to the Major Crimes Unit who were investigating the report of the missing man, had received information of the discovery of a body near a playing field in Babonneau.
“A team of officers accompanied by Pathologist Dr. Stephen King proceeded to the identified area where a partially decomposed body was retrieved,” the release said.
The deceased was subsequently transported to Victoria Hospital Mortuary pending a post mortem examination which is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Walter was an employee of the Super J branch on the waterfront in Castries.
