The teen that went missing over the weekend was found this morning at about 7:00 near his home in Sans Souci, Castries.
Veronica Bonnett, the mother of 18-year-old Romel Bonnett, told St. Lucia New Online (SNO) that her son was discovered in a frail condition and needed medical attention.
She said Romel had not eaten since Sunday, but she was reluctant to provide more information on her son’s discovery.
However, a source told SNO that Romel was found dehydrated and had made contact with a family member prior to being found.
A relative, who wished not to be named, thanked everyone who aided in his discovery: ”The family would like to thank all those who supported and would like to thank the media for the input.”
It is believed that Romel went missing sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 20 and 6 a.m. Monday, July 21.
Veronica had said she last saw Romel on Sunday evening at around 10 p.m. However, she only discovered he was missing on Monday morning.
Romel had left his keys and cellular phone behind. She also claimed that she was unaware of reasons surrounding his disappearance. Veronica had told SNO that Romel blocked relatives from his Facebook page.
Romel wrote examinations last month at the Sir Arthur Community College where he read for a diploma in business management.
A missing person’s report was made with the police on Wednesday.
