A man of St. Lucian descent was murdered in London, United Kingdom just before midnight on Friday, August 29.
Anthony ‘Tony’ Charlery, 59, a well-known music promoter who lived in Kensington, was stabbed in the neck as he tried to run from his attackers. He collapsed and died on Portobello Road, west London.
Investigators say Charlery was attacked by two local men as he left the Mau Mau bar in Portobello Road W11. He was alone.
London police said “Tony was a local man and a much loved grandfather. His family are devastated by his death in such a brutal way.”
Charlery, who is from Dennery, often vacationed in St. Lucia.
He is survived by several children and grandchildren.
