Is there a war underway in Faux-A-Chaud/Hospital Road?
The Castries community has been the scene of several shootings and homicides since late last year.
The latest incident occurred last night, August 5, 2013 when a man known as Ghost was killed after being shot multiple times.

Police said 26-year-old Venus Raymond of Trouya, Gros Islet sustained gunshot wounds in Faux-A-Chaud on Friday, Dec. 14 at about 4:45 p.m. Two men – Trandy Henry aka Cripple and Shervon Alexis aka Chunky, both of Faux-A-Chaud, Castries – have been charged for attempting to murder Raymond.

Police said Critchlan James aka Suram, 23, of Faux-A-Chaud, Castries was reportedly shot by unknown assailants while standing in the vicinity of Block S5 of the CDC Apartments at the intersection of Darling Road and Jeremie Street, Castries. Police responded to the report at about 12:30 a.m. James was pronounced dead on arrival at Victoria Hospital, police said. Oswaldo Prospere, 24, of Barnard Hill, has been charged in connection with James’ death.

At about 12: 30am, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report at Hospital Road, Castries. On arrival, they received information that 17-year-old Junior Combie of Hospital Road had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper right hip by an unknown individual. He was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and admitted. No one has been arrested in relation to this incident.

Police said 45-year-old George Montoute, aka Caught Up, of Hospital Road, Castries succumbed to a gunshot wound at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, June 2, 2013. According to a police press release, on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at about 8:37 pm, Criminal Investigations Department officers responded to a shooting incident report at Hospital Road. “The officers immediately proceeded to the scene of the alleged incident. Upon arrival they observed a male individual lying on his right side, covered in blood. He appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to the lower torso. That individual was identified as 45-year-old George Montoute, also known as Caught Up of Hospital Road, Castries. Montoute was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and admitted. On Sunday, June 2, 2013, George Montoute succumbed to his injury whilst at Victoria Hospital,” the press release added.

A father and son were injured as a result of a shooting which took place at Hospital Road, Castries on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at about 8 p.m. Norance Laurent, 38, and his 14-year-old son, Kyle Laurent of Hospital Road, were brought to Victoria Hospital after they sustained gunshot wounds while at home. Both men were admitted and were said to be in a stable condition.
