The body of an elderly male was found in a drain in La Haut, Mon Repos.
Police said the partly decomposed body of 66-year-old Desmond Victor, also known as Jim and Nesmen of Lombard, Mon Repos, was discovered at about 8:25 a.m today, Nov. 26 by a resident lying face-down in the drain.
Police said Victor was last seen by family members at about 10 a.m on Monday, November 24, 2014.
A post mortem examination will be conducted on the body of Victor at a later date. The police have not suspected foul play in this incident.
Residents in the area believe Victor may have collapsed while eating his dinner. The body was reportedly found with bread, a soft drink and a tin of corn beef.
Reports suggest that the body may have been in the drain for over 24 hours.
