PRESS RELEASE - On Tuesday, November 25, 2014, officers attached to the Drug Unit conducted an operation at the Barre D’Isle.
During the operation, the officers intercepted a white Toyota motor car registration number PE 3602 driven by Coud “Chemist” Poyotte of Vieux Fort.
A search was carried out on that vehicle as well as its occupant. During the search, the officers discovered two rectangular blocks of what is suspected to be cocaine. Poyotte was subsequently arrested and charged for possession of a controlled drug and possession with the intent to supply a controlled drug.
He appeared before the First District Court in Castries on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. He was bailed in the sum of $20,000.00 cash, suitable surety and land documents on each charge. He was also bailed on conditions such as, report to the Vieux Fort Police Station every Friday and to surrender all travel documents.
