The man charged for the Paix Bouche homicide has been ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
Devon Phillip, 25, of Paix Bouche, Babonneau is accused of attacking Kerry Louis, 19, with a cutlass on Thursday, December 18, 2014.
Louis sustained chops to his neck and cheek. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Victoria Hospital a few minutes after the incident.
Phillip was charged with causing the death of Louis. He made his first court appearance in the First District Court in Castries this morning.
He was remanded until January 30, 2015.
A post mortem examination conducted on the body of Louis, indicated that he died from hemorrhagic secondary to incised wounds.
