Police have asked the Director of Public Prosecutions, Victoria Charles-Clarke, to decide if there is enough evidence for them to charge a Canadian citizen with the drowning death of a four-year-old boy.
Police have submitted the findings of their investigations to the DPP. The suspect who was arrested on Tuesday remains in police custody. The DPP has until then to respond to the police.
Reports are that the man allegedly took the child into the water on a surfboard against the wishes of his guardian, resulting in his death.
