BREAKING NEWS: Wanted man now in police custody

The Police Press Office has confirmed that Marvin Gabriel, who is wanted for a shooting incident in Bois Patat, Castries, is now in police custody.

Reports are that he turned himself in at around noon today.

On Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, police issued a wanted press release and photo of Gabriel who is accused of shooting 45-year-old Eldon Simon, aka Kay Lay Lay of Bois Patat, Castries at about 6:30 am on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013.

Reports are that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute. Simon sustained gunshot wound (s) to the lower part of the body. Simon’s last condition, as reported by the police, was critical but stable.

Gabriel, who is no stranger to the law having been arrested in the past for robbery, assault, and a suspect in murder investigations, among other offences, faces an attempted murder charge for the Bois Patat incident.

POLICE PRESS RELEASE:A warrant in the first instance dated September 2, 2013 has been issued for 24-year-old Marvin Gabriel of the Bois Patat/Morne Du Don area for the offence of attempted murder (see editor’s note below story).

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is seeking the assistance of the public in locating this individual.

Anyone who has information pertaining to the whereabouts of Marvin Gabriel is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 456-3770/456-3817.

If the suspect is viewing this broadcast, he is asked to turn himself in to the Criminal Investigations Department or the nearest police station.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Forces advices anyone who has sighted this individual to not approach him as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.


Gabriel is accused of shooting the man in this photograph during an alleged domestic dispute.
