Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 19-year-old Chereece Benoit of La Feuille, Monchy.
The incident occurred between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at her residence in La Feuille, Monchy.
Reports indicate that the victim was home alone.
The mother of the victim returned to her residence at about 8:45 p.m. to find it disturbed. She proceeded to her daughter’s room to find her lying face down on her bed with her limbs bounded.
Consequently, the police was called and an investigation commenced.
Thus far, no one has been arrested in relation to this homicide.

This has been the 24th homicide for 2013.
EDITOR’S NOTE: An autopsy will reveal the cause of death, though there are speculations that she appeared to have been strangled.
