Police are investigating the alleged kidnapping of a bank teller and the robbery of 1st National at the George F. Charles Airport on Sunday evening.
Reports are that a bank teller from the afternoon shift was kidnapped at gunpoint by about three men sometime between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm while he walked along the Vigie strip shortly after leaving work.
It is further reported that they tied his hands behind his back, searched him and took the keys to the bank’s main door and vaults and drove him to Vigie cemetery.
He was allegedly told to cooperate or be killed. The captors reportedly drove around with him in La Clery for about half hour then released him unharmed in the York Hill area.
The robbers allegedly made off with thousands of dollars worth of EC and US currency.
