Mitch Alcide, who coldly shot his neighbour Embert Eugene aka Cow Back to death before he was gunned down shortly after by a police officer Friday night, Jan. 17 in Rockhall, Castries, is no stranger to violence.
Alcide, who is called ‘Shooter’ and ‘Mad Ras’, was the victim of two other shootings over the past seven months. One occurred earlier this month and the other on June 27 last year. He is also well known to law enforcement authorities.
In the 2013 incident, Alcide was wounded outside his Rockhall home in a drive-by shooting.
At the time, his mother, Monica Alcide, told HTS that she was inside the house when she heard the barrage of gunshots and later rushed to her son’s aid.
Alcide reportedly sustained one gunshot to each leg and another to the torso.
About five to seven shots were fired at the victim who was placed on a vehicle and rushed to hospital.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a burgundy Honda Integra leaving the scene of the shooting.
Interestingly, that same day, a burgundy 1989 Honda car, registration number PG7065, was reportedly stolen near Pizza Pizza in Rodney Bay between 8 p.m. and 9:40 p.m.
The stolen vehicle was reportedly found near the FRC building a day after the shooting, according to HTS.
No one was ever arrested for that shooting and the motive for the shooting was never reported. Monica denied that it was gang related.
In the second incident, Mitch was shot in the upper part of his body in Castries sometime between Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, 2014. The circumstances surrounding that shooting are not clear, but it is alleged that Mitch did not stay in hospital.
In the latest incident, which occurred Friday night, Jan. 17, Mitch was reportedly called to intervene in a dispute between his relatives and their next-door neighbours.
Mitch reportedly gunned down neighbour Embert Eugene, who sustained shots to his face and chest area. The shooting took place on the street side – metres away from the homes of Mitch and Eugene.
Reports are that Eugene was using his phone to take photos of a relative who was handcuffed at the feet by a police officer – arising from an earlier family dispute – when Mitch approached him and shot him to death. Eugene was reportedly not involved in the serious of conflicts that day with Mitch’s family, and was described as a person who avoided conflicts as much as possible.
The police officer, who was in the vicinity, and who lives nearby, fired shots at Mitch who succumbed to his injuries at Victoria Hospital.
