Just hours after the newly appointed Police commissioner Severin Moncherry and the top brass of the Royal St. Lucia Police Force held a poorly-attended town hall meeting on how to fight crime, two residents of Castries were gunned down while going about their business.
The first victim was 35-y-o Christopher Williams who was shot dead opposite the Trinity Church in Bisee, Castries.
Williams was reportedly shot in the head and died on the spot.
The other incident involved a well known young woman by the name of Verna ‘Meany’ Augustin.
According to bystanders, Augustin was standing by the roadside when a man exited a white motor vehicle and opened fire on her.
She lost a brother to a shooting in 2011.
