Relatives of 46-year-old David Renee of Cedar Heights, Vieux Fort say they “very emotional” at this time after more than two weeks have passed without any trace of their loved one.
David disappeared during the first week of January and his vehicle was found in a remote area.
His sister, Lindy Renee, told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) today, Jan. 18 that they are still feverishly searching for David.
“It’s been a very emotional time for us,” she said. “So many questions to figure out, with no answers.”
Lindy said a search was carried out recently.
“We did put up a search party on our own Sunday, but didn’t come up with anything,” said the depressed sister.
Family members are appealing to members of the public, who may have any information about his disappearance, to contact the police.
“It’s really painful for me,” said his brother Curtis Renee in an interview with HTS over a week ago. “It’s not easy. All I wish is to see him.”
The father of two was last seen at his residence, about 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4 by a passerby, a woman who knows him, relatives say.
His vehicle was discovered by a family friend later that evening “at the back of Public Works in an isolated area”.
Based on initial checks, relatives say there was nothing strange about the vehicle. Its doors and windows were locked.
Calls to both his cell phones went straight to voicemail. David lived alone and checks at his home showed nothing amiss.
In a Facebook post two weeks ago, Lindy said this is a heartbreaking moment for the family who are praying and hoping for his safe return.
“We are having a hard time coping, not knowing the whereabouts of my brother David since his vehicle was found in an isolated area…” she wrote.
Lindy has described her brother as “more or less a church guy” who has never gone missing before.
“…. At this point in time we just need a closure,” Lindy said.
