While expressing its gratitude to members of the public for assisting in identifying the body of 22-year-old Jaime Innocent of Morne Du Don, the police is also appealing for assistance in solving the suspected homicide.
Innocent, also known as Foxx, was found on Wednesday, April 9, about 9:30 a.m., with his head covered in a sack and his feet bound in an isolated area between the Landings Resort and a feeder road to Gros Islet town off the Pigeon Island beach.
Police said “owing to investigations and assistance from the public” they were able to identify the body, which bore numerous tattoos.
According to family reports, the last interaction with Innocent was on Monday, April 7, 2014, police said in a press release.
A post mortem examination to determine the cause of death is scheduled for Saturday April 12, 2014.
“The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) is appealing to anyone who has information which can assist in the investigation of this matter to contact the Gros Islet Police Station at 456-3830 or the nearest police station. Also, the RSLPF would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in identifying this individual. Investigations into this incident continue,” the press release stated.
