A male individual has been remanded at the Anse La Raye Police Station in connection with the theft of a cow, according to a law enforcement official.
The individual is reportedly one of several persons who were initially taken into police custody Thursday evening in connection with the theft of the animal, the official said.
St. Lucia News Online understands that the suspect in custody has not been charged and his fate depends on the cow owner’s decision to press charges or not.
The matter is also being investigated by the Praedial Larceny Unit, according to the official.
A two-minute video of the arrest has been uploaded on social media.
It shows two young males and the cow being escorted by an armed police officer, and a police van.
According to the commentator in the video, the incident occurred in Millet.
