Laporte
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has confirmed the death of 39-year-old Lucius Laporte of New Village, Castries.
Information suggests that about 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, whilst at the intersection of Anse Ger and Desruisseaux, Micoud, Laporte and a known individual were involved in an altercation.
As a result of that altercation, Laporte, also known as Marcus, sustained a stab wound and was transported to St. Jude Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
One man is currently in police custody pending investigations.
Laporte was an employee of the Statistics Department.
After Laporte was stabbed, the alleged attacker was subdued by residents and his hands tied behind his back.
