Three persons from Bocage, Castries are now behind bars following the interdiction of a boat with drugs by policemen on Monday, August 5, 2013 off the coast of Soufriere within the territorial waters of Saint Lucia.
One large package, containing four smaller packages, and a white bucket containing dry green plant materials, suspected to be cannabis, were recovered from a white and blue vessel named Daily Bread.
The boat with the three occupants on board was intercepted at about 10:50 pm by Marine Unit officers.
The occupants were subsequently arrested and taken into custody for the offences of possession of a controlled drug and possession with the intent to supply a controlled drug.
Police said the individuals are expected to be charged and taken before the First District Court at a later date.
