Violent incidents reported on Labour Day

Two men sustained injuries while the country celebrates Labour Day today, Thursday, May 1 (a public holiday).

In the first reported incident, 24-year-old Cameron Belizaire of Cedars, Castries was rushed via ambulance to Victoria Hospital about 4 a.m. with a stab wound to the lower left side of his abdomen. A medical source said his intestines were hanging out.

“He appeared to be in critical condition and had to be rush to OR (operating room) to undergo surgery,” the source added.

No further details on that incident is available.

In the second incident which occurred about 10:50 this morning in Castries, a man called ‘General Trees’ sustained several slashes to his forearm from an assailant who was armed with a cutlass.

The incident occurred on Jeremie Street. He was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance.

His condition is unknown at this time.
