A man, who is believed to be mentally unstable, was arrested yesterday (Friday, January 2) after he was allegedly “caught in the act” with a goat in Desruisseaux, Micoud, highly-placed sources have told St. Lucia News Online (SNO).
The man is currently in custody at the Micoud Police Station while the allegation is being investigated. If sufficient evidence is gathered, the man may be charged with bestiality or indecent exposure.
The perpetrator was reportedly caught naked with the animal in bushes near the complainant’s home. SNO obtained a photo of the man with the goat.
“The owner of the goat took the pic, went to the cops, who came to apprehend him, still in the act,” a resident from the community told SNO, adding that this is not the first time the man was caught in such a manner with an animal.
The resident said the man is “mentally unstable”. SNO will provide more information when it is available.
This is not the first time a man has been arrested for such an allegation.
In late October 2013, police confirmed that a young man was arrested for having sex with a sheep in Bexon.
The man, believed to be in his early 20′s, faced a charge of bestiality.
Reports on SNO at the time stated that the police was scheduled to collect fluid from the sheep to test for semen.
“He was reported because two people picking coconuts watched him and came to call us. He go down on his knees. When I personally asked him, he said someone that send him to do that,” a source had told St. Lucia News Online.
Other similar cases have been reported in other Caribbean islands. In Dominica, a few years ago, a man was convicted for having sex with cows, while in Guyana a man was charged, having caught having sex with an animal. He was also suspected of having sex with all the animals at the residence, including goats and chickens.
